Complete Bag Set With Tiger Maple Display Board Raffle **Comming soon in 2026**
This special tribute to Hershel was concieved of and its production directed by Joe Mills. Others who made or contributed items were Greg Mills, Brad Mills, Chuck Edwards, and Rick Brown. All of these generous people graciously donated their talents or treasured items to this project to help raise funds for the foundation.
Joe crafted the bag using vegetable tanned calf skin, bark tanned deer hide and goat for the hair on hide flap. The bag straps are also vegetable tanned calf.
The powder horn is an original from the late 18th or 19th century, It was repaired and donated by Joe.
The priming horn is from a cow horn and was also crafted by Joe.
The bag knife was made by Heshel for Rick in 2022 and Joe fashioned the knife sheath from bark tanned deer hide with a rawhide liner.
Joe’s son Brad made the deer antler powder measurer, the vent pick, and the pan brush. Brade also drew, cut out, and stitched the stars on the bag strap.
The display board is curly maple and was donated by Greg Mills. The brass plate with the foundation logo was engraved by Chuck Edwards. The plate is heart shaped as this was one of Hershel’s favorite touch marks.
